Qualified residents of the Broadalbin-Perth Central School District may request an absentee ballot to participate in the May 17 budget vote and board elections. According to the state Board of Elections, the risk of contracting or spreading a communicable disease like COVID-19 remains a valid reason to request an absentee ballot in New York.
Registered voters who wish to vote by absentee ballot must fill out an application. Applications may be obtained in person from District Clerk Georgia Baldwin in the district office, or by calling 518-954-2501.
Voters who want their absentee ballots mailed to them must return their application to the district office by May 11. Voters who plan to pick up their absentee ballot must return their application by May 16.
All absentee ballots, including military absentee ballots, must be returned to the district office by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17.
Qualified residents who wish to vote in person may do so from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, May 17, in the Robert C. Munn Gymnasium at Broadalbin-Perth Jr./Sr. High School, 100 Bridge Street, Broadalbin.
