Dear members of the Broadalbin-Perth community,
Today, Friday, Dec. 4, Broadalbin-Perth was informed of a positive test for COVID-19 for an individual at Broadalbin-Perth Elementary School. We have identified students and employees who had come into contact with this individual and we have already directed them to stay at home while they await further instructions from their county health department. Our buildings and grounds team is thoroughly cleaning and sanitizing the school.
We are working closely with Fulton County Public Health (FCPH) and following all guidance provided to us. If you or anyone in your household is at risk of exposure, you will be contacted directly by state contact tracers. If you are contacted by a state contact tracer, please offer your complete cooperation.
While I fully understand you would probably like additional details about this situation, privacy laws prohibit us from identifying the individual involved. We are providing you with as much information as is allowed under the law. If you have particular questions or concerns, please contact your county health department.
Please rest assured that our priority in Broadalbin-Perth is protecting the health, welfare, and safety of our students, employees, and community while complying with all government orders and guidelines related to the ongoing pandemic. Remember that if your child experiences any symptoms of COVID-19, please keep them home from school and contact your healthcare provider for further guidance.
Sincerely,
Stephen M. Tomlinson
Superintendent of Schools
