All students in grades 7-12 at Broadalbin-Perth Jr./Sr. High School will engage in remote learning Thursday, Nov. 19 through the Thanksgiving break. Students in the hybrid learning model will return to their regular schedule on Monday, Nov. 30. The shift to remote learning comes after an individual at the school tested positive for COVID-19.
Faculty and staff should report to the building as usual. Students will follow their daily schedule via Google Meets during the remote learning period: Thursday is an “A” day and Friday is a “B” day (see bell schedule). Teachers will post links to these Google Meets to their Google Classrooms. Students enrolled in the 100% remote learning model will also be invited to attend these Google Meets. Attendance will be taken during all Google Meets. Note, advisory classes will not take place during this time, but teachers will maintain their 1:25-2:25 p.m. daily office hours.
Tuesday, Nov. 24 remains a half day of school for students in grades 7-12. B-P Jr. High School Principal Wayne Bell and Sr. High School Principal Mark Brooks will share information about the half-day schedule with students by Monday, Nov. 23, which is a “C” day.
Students who attend the Career & Technical Education Center at HFM BOCES may continue to attend those programs in person. The district will provide transportation for those students to and from their homes.
